A lot of people knows Girona for his awesome roads and the endless routes that you can do there but, this place also is perfect to practice gravel cycling.
We visited Girona to practice cycling many times, but never before to do routes by gravel, it was our first time (we did before the Gentleman’s race that it finished in Girona city but we didn’t know other routes from there).
For this adventure, we had the opportunity to meet once again with Ash Duban, a friend of us that we know from fixed gear world. She is a rider from Texas (US), and she is pushing hard in the most important competitions around the world.
She came to Girona for two weeks and training hard and we took advantage of this for cycling together.
The guys from Ride Barcelona borrowed us a bike for her and we went do gravel!
Our plan was to ride thru the track of Gravel Bonanza first edition, organized by our friends from The Service Course, but first, a good coffee and a proper breakfast in La Fabrica Girona.
After some kilometers and took some wrong paths, finally, we started to climb some hills and nice gravel roads.
It was a hot day and the first part of the route was hard but with good company always is better.
We had time to talk with Ash about her racing season and know a bit more from her, outside racing world.
Finally, we achieved 70 km of funny moments, hard climbings, faster downhills and crossing some rivers, we arrived at Girona again after a great day with friends and our lovely bikes.
